Police stay mum on case - Alieghya Clark
But a man in custody is thought to be one of the last people seen with the Olathe woman.

A man authorities say might have information about a missing Olathe woman is thought to be one of the last people seen with her.
Johnson County District Attorney Paul Morrison confirmed that Thursday as crews continued to search a Miami County river looking for clues in Alieghya
Clark’s disappearance. The man has been in custody for more than a week after being arrested in South Carolina.
He’s obviously a person of interest, Morrison said.
Neither Morrison nor Olathe Police will provide specific details about the case that is still immersed in mystery. Authorities would not say whether investigators have interviewed the man about Clark, who has been missing since May 28.
Until now, all authorities would say is a witness saw Clark get into a gray pickup truck similar to one the man owns with his wife. The man police think has information lives a couple of blocks from Clark, and the two apparently know one another.
We’re always pretty cautious, said Olathe Police spokesman Sgt. Mike Butaud. We want to keep back integral information that allows us to be successful in the prosecution of the case.
Investigators have searched several locations in the area, hoping to uncover clues. Wednesday and Thursday’s search of a Miami County river where two fishermen said they reeled in human hair on their hooks did not turn up anything.
What makes this case tough, Butaud said, is a lack of a crime scene and not knowing what happened in the first hours of her disappearance.
We don’t have something that makes us believe for sure that yeah, something bad happened, Butaud said. No door kicked in, no blood on the floor. All we know is she’s missing and that’s out of character.
The man in custody is being held with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to be in court again July 29 on charges of criminal damage and deprivation related to a truck he owns with his wife. Authorities found that truck in South Carolina after he was arrested.
