SILVER SPRING, Md. -- Police are asking the public to help in the search for a man who was reported missing Monday.
Stephen James Mowatt, 45, was last seen July 8 at his apartment in the White Oak area of Silver Spring. Police said Mowatt left his apartment between 10 a.m. and noon to go to the Bank of America on Stewart Lane and Columbia Pike.
Mowatt does not have a car and was known to typically make the 10-minute walk to the bank, police said.
He is described as white, 6 feet 1 inch tall and about 225 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes.
Police said he suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. He may not have his medication with him.
