For almost two weeks Phil Wolfe has tried to find out what became of his longtime friend,
James "Bobby" Sellers
Sellers, 54, who has Alzheimer's disease, was last seen at the Exxon Filling Station at the intersection of West Park Avenue and Walnut Street, around 11 p.m. June 27.
A former Greenwood police officer, Wolfe says the Sellers case is baffling to him.
When Sellers was last seen he had no money or valuables on him, except for a cell phone.
A check of cell phone tower records in Greenwood has revealed no activity on the phone since June 29 - the night of Sellers' disappearance.
"Somebody physically had to move him. It's like aliens came down and took him away," Wolfe said. "What we're hoping is that it would have tripped an out-of-town cell tower."
On Friday, members of the Leflore County First Responders team dragged the Tallahatchie and Yazoo rivers for Sellers' body.
A search of Sellers' North Greenwood neighborhood, including places he might have gone, has yielded nothing.
Sellers has been added to the National Crime Information Center's list, yet no information on his whereabouts has been received.
The NCIC is available only to police agencies. Although the list is known chiefly for helping track criminals, it includes a missing persons section.
Linda Dickson said her brother may still be wearing his Greenwood Leflore Hospital identification bracelet from his last hospitalization.
The family is hoping for the best. Still, the ordeal has taken its toll. Sellers' brother, Stanley Sellers of Greenwood, has been hospitalized, she said.
"We're just worried sick about him," Dickson said.
