Police are asking for the public’s help finding a 24-year-old Columbia woman who has been missing for more than a week.
Megan Shultz was last seen about 1 a.m. Aug. 4 at her residence in the 1700 block of Amelia Street. At the time, she made statements that she was on her way to meet friends, Columbia police said in a news release.
A family member reported Shultz missing at 8:45 a.m. the next day.
Police said Shultz is taking prescribed medication for a recent automobile accident and that foul play is not suspected.
Shultz is described as a white female, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a pink tank top, white Capri pants and a pair of flip-flops.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit of the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers at
573-875-8477.
Columbia police were looking for help Tuesday locating a Columbia woman who has been missing for 10 days.
Megan Nichole Shultz, 24, was last seen around 1 a.m. on Aug. 4, police said in a news release. A relative filed a missing person report the following day.
Shultz is a white woman, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 120 pounds with brown eyes. She was last seen at her home in the 1700 block of Amelia Street. She was last seen wearing a pink tank top, white Capri pants and a pair of flip-flops. She had said she was planning to meet friends.
Sgt. Ken Hammond said the department was not treating the case as a criminal matter. He said there is no indication that Shultz had been taken against her will.
Shultz, who was recently in a car accident, could be injured in some way, because she was taking prescription pain medication, Hammond said, but there is no indication that she’s a threat.
Police did not notify the media until Tuesday because they did not suspect foul play. Investigators have been interviewing family and friends, but no one has spoken to Shultz, Hammond said.
