The Nebraska State Patrol is assisting the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office and Peru State College, with the search for a missing co-ed.

At 3 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3 Tyler (Ty) Thomas, 19, was reported missing after attending an off-campus party in Peru. She was last seen at 1:30 a.m. walking toward the Centennial Complex residence hall on the southwest side of Peru, Nebraska.

Two teams combed the riverbanks for the second time in a week on Saturday, part of a renewed effort to find any trace of Peru State College freshman Tyler Thomas.

Thomas, originally of Bellevue, went missing in December of last year. The last known person to see her and suspect in her disappearance, Joshua Keadle has admitted to investigators that he left her at the Peru boat dock by the Missouri River.

Initial searches when she first went missing came up with no sign. 

This fall, family friend Shannon Ennis and volunteers made up of family and even strangers to Thomas have done 2 searches of the banks along the Missouri in the area.

Volunteers on Saturday continued searching where volunteers left off on October 16th.

Ennis says both searches came up empty handed, although a couple of clothing items were flagged on Saturday to be further examined.

Another search is planned for the coming weeks, as long as the weather cooperates.

Joshua Keadle, originally of Swansea, South Carolina is in Nemaha County Jail, facing charges in two other sexual assault cases. http://www.wowt.com/
